Manifestation V. Prayer

Hey everybody! I hope all is well and that 2021 is treating you right so far. It’s hard to believe all that has happened within the first couple of weeks of the year! At least 2020 kind of eased us into it; 2021 hit the ground running! Yet and still, I will not complain because believe it or not, it could still be worse! That is typically my outlook on life in general; I won’t complain because even though it could be better, it could also be so much worse!

Everybody has their own outlook on life, for whatever reason or reasons. Sometimes, it’s based on experience. Sometimes it’s based on belief. Sometimes there are a ton of other factors. Before I get too deep into this post, I want to issue a disclaimer, if you read the title, you will know this is some slightly different. This post has the potential to err on the side of a theological piece. Generally, I don’t really write about it, however, an experience this past week lead me to it, and if you’ve read my writing, you know I just go where the thoughts lead me! So here we are! Okay, disclaimer out of the way.

I was on a social media platform the other day and heard a woman say that she does not believe in manifestation. She believes in prayer and those prayers being answered. It kind of made me think. I believe in prayers working as well, but I also believe that you can’t just pray something into existence; you have to work. I got to rationalizing; isn’t that where manifestation comes in? I have also seen people condemn those who refer to the universe…as in the universe is responding or something of that sort. They often say it’s God, not the universe. Let me be clear, I am not condemning or downing anyone for their beliefs. I do not judge. That is between the individual and their higher power. I will, however, share some experiences and encounters.

Back to what I was saying: this woman said she does not believe in manifestation. I will say this without getting too deep into my personal beliefs: I believe in the Most High. I believe that God is very real. I believe in prayer and I pray regularly. Here’s the thing though: I also mediate. I also believe in manifestation. How does this work? In my opinion, the two coincide. I pray. The Most High hears. However, it is my job to put in the work…to not just sit and expect things to be dropped into my life. That is the manifestation. I pray and then, through the Most High’s guidance, work (manifest) for what I’ve prayed. Instead of focusing on the negative, I choose to focus on the positive to attract more positive. That is the manifestation. The mindset to get to that point, though, comes from prayer. I hope that makes sense. I’ll give another example through the other statement I made.

I read (on that daggone social media, lol) about someone who was very upset that people would say the universe instead of God. One thing I have to note is that usually when I see people say the universe, it is not capitalized, meaning that they very well may not be referring to it as a person, being, or entity. I often say the universe. Well, how does that work when I just told you I believe in God? Well, just like manifestation being a tool of prayer, I believe the universe is the tool of God. When speaking to God, I believe that the universe is used to respond, regardless of what the response is. So, I will say something to the tune of “I put it out there in the universe”. What I mean is this: when I pray to God, I believe He begins moving things to answer those prayers…. hence, the universe. I am not saying that the universe is God. I am saying that God is owner of the universe and shows what needs to be seen through it.

To be completely honest, I didn’t really have a goal with this post, outside of just speaking my opinion. Again, I’m not judging anyone for their views nor am I upset or wish to upset anyone. I do, however, think that if we learned to speak to each other and respect our differences, the world would be a much better place. Again though, that’s just my two cents for whatever it’s worth to you!
